Sunkissed Summer Wedding at Houghton Lodge

We have both unanimously decided that this was one our favourite weddings we’ve ever shot. A stunning location and a super fun Bride & Groom make for the perfect recipe when it comes to photography, and documenting a day to remember.

Rachel and Ben were married at All Saints Church in Houghton. It was absolutely packed and the day was sweltering so I think the guests were very pleased to be greeted by an ice cream bike to cool themselves down after the ceremony!

A stone’s throw up the road we arrived at Houghton Lodge Gardens, one of the most beautiful historic venues we have had the pleasure of shooting at. We began in the walled garden for canapes which was alive with beautiful colours everywhere you looked. Guests then made their way down to the marquee, overlooking the River Test. Saying it was picture perfect doesn’t really do it justice.

The speeches had everyone in fits of laughter (including us!) and later in the evening we disappeared with the newlyweds for a few pictures in the grounds of Houghton Lodge. When we arrived back it was party time and after the first dance the live band had most of the guests on the dance floor and even had a few (including Ben) taking the lead vocals... with mixed success! What a brilliant and memorable day…
